About the Author

Hi all! Jessica here! This is just a bit of an about me page. I don’t much like talking about myself, but here goes nothing. I am a 24 year old aspiring writer currently working on editing my first novel and several short stories. I live back in New Mexico, after living in numerous places including Portugal, Germany and several other states. I graduated with a degree in University Studies with concentrations in Criminal Justice and English in the spring of 2017, then went into an MA program to study English.

Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve dreamed of being a writer. From my first stories written in crayon to my most recent work on Scrivener, writing and reading has been a huge part of my life. If I’m not reading then I’m either writing or on Pintrest. (I mean everyone has to have a little hobby right?)

Everyone has a favorite genre and I’m no exception. My favorite genre to read is detective fiction and I love to write mysteries and paranormal stories. With all the myths out there, and the recent discovery that unicorns may have been real my imagination is fueled constantly. If I had to pick a favorite book, it would be The Silence of the Lambs. While the novel that launched my love of reading in earnest was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Thomas Harris’ novel brought me back to the thrill of reading that I used to feel as a child with a new Harry Potter book in my hot little hands.

Little Writer

Currently, I’m at work on my novel and a nonfiction book about succeeding in college with a chronic illness. I’m also working on submitting my short stories to writing magazines and contests all over. I work as a freelance writer on UpWork and can also be contacted directly for work and other writing related services.
